What is the causes of urinary track infection
Jan 14, 2013

Dr. Karim Nawfal Obstetrics & Gynecology
Urinary tract infections are common and more frequent in women than in men because of the difference in anatomy.
They are caused by bacteria, most commonly E.coli.
The reasons are diverse but they could happen when a woman starts having intercourse (honeymoon cystitis) or the method of hygiene. Certain anatomical abnormalities can also cause recurrent infections.
If there are recurrent infections certain tests have to be done.
