If you are yourself constipated, this may explain why your son has constipation. Should the constipation persist for longer than 24 hours, you are advised to use Glycerine Nourrissons suppositories (split one suppository in 2 halves in a vertical plane, coat one half in Vaseline petroleum jelly, and slowly slide it into your baby’s bottom). Additional measures would be that you avoid getting constipated yourself by increasing your water intake and making sure you consume a high-fiber diet; at times, a trial of avoidance of milk and dairy products in the maternal diet may prove helpful, but do not attempt this unless all the above mentioned measures fail to introduce improvement.

It is recommended that all individuals see a Family Doctor for a full medical examination annually. Adults should get their blood pressure checked (US Preventive Task Force), a flu vaccine (CDC) and more each year.
