I don't smoke nor any of the list u mentioned....I had flu few days ago...and started to cough.

Common cold is associated with coughing. If you're know to have asthma, you should use Ventolin. Cough medicines (antitussives) may help though their benefits vary among individuals. Honey has been proven to reduce cough. Also make sure you use nasal saline to keep your nose clean and prevent post nasal drip (when secretions go backwards into the throat) because this by itself irritates the throat and induces cough. Any worsening should prompt you to get examined by a physician.
