Summary
After having acquired his general medicine diploma from the Lebanese University in Beirut in June 2003, he enrolled in the University of Balamand orthopedics residency program for the next 5 years. He received the orthopedic surgery and Traumatology Diploma from the university of Balamand in June 2008. In October 2008 he moved to Brussels Belgium, where he completed 2 years of fellowship in the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Hopitaux Iris Sud). During these 2 years he perfected his skills in Traumatology, Hip and knee replacement surgery, arthroscopy , as well as sports medicine and degenerative Spine surgery. Leaving Brussels in October 2010 proved to be difficult after having grown a taste for its chocolate, but it was completely worth it to pursue further specialization in Spine Surgery which he holds dear. The University hospital in Heraklion, Crete, In Greece is one of 2 major spine surgery referral centers in Greece. In march 2011, he started a 6 months fellowship period in this center where he was a part of a specialized team that managed the worst cases of spine trauma and degenerative spine whether Lumbar or cervical. Dr Tannous started his practice in Lebanon early 2012
