What is the best treatment for removing a kidney stone?
Apr 24, 2014

Dr. Nehme Raad Urology
There are many methods for treating a kidney stone. They depend on the composition, site and size of the stone.
They can vary from surveillance, to medical treatment, extra-corporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laser fulguration using flexible ureteroscopy, percuraneous nephrolithotomy, or (nephro) pyelolithotomy (open or laparoscopic).
There is no best way, but there is a best way for each stone.
I suggest that you consult a urologist who can decide for the best treatment option.
