What is asthmatic bronchitis? I had asthma at an early age, and now every year I get asthmatic bronchitis. Is it chronic condition? I am a smoker.

Dr. Karim Farah Pulmonology
its inflammation of the airways (bronchi) following a trigger. it can be due to hyperactive airway disease, smoking or exposure to an allergen and others.
if by early age you mean childhood asthma, most children outgrow their asthma when they grow up. but it increases your risk for lung disease such as recurrent bronchitis, wheezing,....
by smoking you are definitely making things worse and you might develop later one chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)
if your yearly bronchitis is lasting for 2-3months (cough sputum production wheezing, shortness of breath....) then you need to do a spirometry and see a physician for proper treatment and possibility of imaging (Xray...) the next best step now is to stop smoking
