If a woman is pregnant in her first month and she bleeds, is it possible that she might still be pregnant?
Jan 11, 2013

Dr. Karim Nawfal Obstetrics & Gynecology
Yes it is very possible that she might still be pregnant.
Having bleeding early in the pregnancy is called threatened abortion and it occurs in up to 25% of pregnant women.
Of the patients that have threatened abortion, 25 to 50% might loose the pregnancy.
This means 50 to 75% of women that have bleeding early during pregnancy will continue the pregnancy normally.
