I have been sweating in my sleep much more than usual, should I be concerned? What could this mean?
Jul 10, 2013

Dr. Karim Farah Pulmonology
there are sever causes of night sweats. it depends what are, if present, other associated symptoms (such as fever, weight loss, palpitations, mood disorder, dizzinness...)
night sweat can be caused by low blood sugar, medications (panadol...), hormonal imbalances (perimenopause), infection (Tuberculosis, abcess, pericarditis,...), malignancies such as lymphoma, carcinoid, pheochromocytoma, skin disorders, if no clear cause is identified then its an idiopathic hyperhidrosis,
so a more detailed history and physical exam should be done. and blood tests and imaging might be requested depending on the findings.
