I have a constant pain behind my ear and it extends to half of my head, I had Turbinectomy but the pain is still there. Shall I go for a CT brain or what may that be ?

Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
pain you are describing is the pain of the mastoid bone(bone behind the ear) behind the ear that maybe a result of a chronic ear infection or sinusitis,...
middle ear infection >inner ear infection>mastoid bone infection>mastoditis>and then the infection may spread to other closed area such as head >if left untreated it goes to the spinal canal
The mastoid bone is located in the inner ear and may not be visible due to the infection. Therefore, your doctor may perform other tests to confirm the diagnosis. These include:
a white blood cell count to confirm the presence of an infection and to exclude tumors
a CT scan of your ear and head
an MRI scan of your ear and head
an X-ray of your skull
If the tests confirm a diagnosis of mastoiditis, your doctor may also perform a lumbar puncture (spinal tap). This test will allow your doctor to determine if the infection has spread to your spinal column.
