I have a 9 month year old and i've been hearing about the MMR and Autism link. can you give us some facts about it?
Sep 10, 2013

Dr. Jihad Irani Family Medicine
At 9 months some doctors give only the Measles vaccine alone. The case of MMR - Autism link is not based on scientific evidence. I will be giving MMR to my child and I recommend it as well to yours (at 12 months though).

Dr. Dina Helou Pediatrics
Concers about a possible link between MMR vaccine and autism were raised in the late 1990's and since then all studies have shown no scientific link between them.
What you should know is that measles is not a benign condition and can have severe complications and lead sometimes to death, so vaccinating your son as soon as 9 months will protect him, especially that we are experiencing measles outbreak in the region.
Both the monovalent (measles) and the trivalent vaccine (MMR) can be given at 9 months and they are both safe.
