How can someone catch the HPV virus? What factors increase the risk of the disease?
Jan 16, 2014

Dr. Nemer Charafeddine Obstetrics & Gynecology
HPV is usually transmitted through sexual contact, even when the male puts a condom-though the risk will diminish.
Smoking, multiple sexual partners, unsafe sex and uncircumcised males are some of the factors that increase your likelihood of catching HPV.
You can take the HPV vaccine that will give you immunity, even if one is not a virgin.

Dr. Salim Saab Otolaryngology (ENT)
HPV is transmitted through sexual contact. Sex with condom is not safe, girls between ages 9 to 25 years should get the vaccine.
