Hello, I have a very slight case of PCOS. I took glucophage for around 3 months, but I still get my period once every 2 months. Do I have to go on birth control or is there a more natural treatment?

Dr. Julien Lahoud Obstetrics & Gynecology
The natural evolution of PCOS is normalization with age.
But until then glucophage, OCP are the medical solution.
The treatment is at least 6 month and the results are not immediate.
Surgery can also help. It is done laparoscopically and small holes are made in the ovary. This decreases the level of androgen.
The choice of therapy depends on the symptoms also. ( infertility, acne...)
Finally weight loss can contribute also the the decrease of symptoms.
