Dr. Georges Karam Psychiatry
The major side effects of cymbalta are nausea and headaches but they usually get better after 7 to 10 days. It is not worse than other medications in terms of memory loss (and definitely better than pain medications). We still do not know the exact cause of fibromyalgia but what has been proven to help is exercise and certain medications, cymbalta being one of them. You should undergo a rheumatologic work up to rule out other causes of your pain. If fibromyalgia is confirmed, cymbalta would be a good choice.
