Can I drink alcohol if im taking: augmentin and zaldiar
Oct 4, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Alcohol is notorious for interacting with a lot of medications and interfering with their mechanism of action, so it may actually render them less effective, or increase their concentration in the blood which may result in side effects of those drugs becoming more potent. It therefore not recommended to consume alcohol while on medication.
Regarding Augmentin, there are no documented interactions with alcohol, but Zaldiar, which is a combination of paracetamol (panadol) and tramadol (an opiate, resembles morphine) interacts with alcohol and you get significantly drowsy, so you definitely must not co-administer Zaldiar and alcohol.
