I have a flu now, 2 days. Green mucus, throat hurts, sneezing. It always stays with me for a long time. What can I do to prevent it from getting worse?vitamin C, hot drinks, etc have never affected.

Relying on your description, you might need antibiotics along with adjunctive treatments addressing the flu symptoms. Regarding what you can do to prevent it from getting worse, well allow me to say that you can't do much! My recommendation is to do regular saline nasal douche, and of course consult your doctor.

Usually the flu stays around 3-5 days sometimes a week. some people may have symptoms that drag if they are smokers, have allergies...there are no medicines that are proven to shorten the duration although there are some studies showing that honey, Vit C, zinc, probiotics may be effective. You can give them a try. If symptoms persist over a week, better check with your doctor
